P-day is Monday now...

So, last week was transfers.  They decided P-Day should be Monday now... They didn't tell us until last Wednesday and then they didn't allow us to tell our families until today... Kind of lame, but oh well.  P-Days are now Monday!  It's a good thing I don't have many left, because I keep on thinking today is Tuesday...  Haha

This week was good.  It is still pretty hot outside, so not many people are outside to talk to...  But, we still do work!

English classes are going really well.  One lady, Carmen, came to the Pioneer activity two weeks ago and she has come to church the past two weeks!  We haven't been able to like teach teach her, but hopefully this week.  We have little thoughts at the end of English classes, but she always has to leave to go home.  She walks to English classes from her house!  She lives like, 30 minutes away.  She's dedicated.  She's cool.  She will definitely be baptized soon.  She also has like, 5 kids.  And a husband.  Family baptism!  WOO!

We had a super awesome activity on Friday!  Our ward is kind of suffering right now...  Lots of people don't come to church because they don't feel loved or they get offended or something.  It's a lot different from when I was here last time.  But, with the activity we had, we focused a lot on the love of God and unity and how we need to work together to build each other up and the kingdom of the Lord.  Elder Nealy and I made an obstacle course and had little cart things to ride on.  But, we had someone ride on the cart and someone push them from behind.  But, the person from behind was blindfolded and the person sitting down had to guide them.  It was so cool.  Then we also had other games that helped people work together.  It was a lot of fun.  All the members really liked it too!  Hopefully it will start them up more on missionary work and being more unified and stuff.

Well, that's it for this week.  I wish I could have told you that P-Day was changed so that I could see what you did all week!  I received some pictures from Lagoon and it looks fun!  Did everyone go?

That's so cool about the PCC special!  It was super cool.  I was going to be in it...  But, they had changed a little of what they were going to do.  Elder Nealy was in it though!  It was a lot of fun.

I hope you have a wonderful week!
I love you!

Cultural celebration fotos

These are from the PCC event. The fire dancers were really cool.

me quedo!

New transfer!  I'm staying!  Elder Nealy is staying!  The chances of us dying together are even more likely now.  There aren't many changes in the Spanish work.  3 Hermanas are training, 2 of which are going to be co-training.  And that's all the changes.  English work, however, is different.  Someone told me that all but 10 English companionships are being changed.  They are really trying to integrate the mission so there are no more "Carlsbad" or "Anaheim" missionaries.  Just all Irvine!  Thank goodness there were no Anaheim Spanish missionaries.  Or else we might have gotten switched!

This week was really slow for us...  We didn't teach a whole lot.  Lots of the people that we are teaching are working a lot and don't have any time...  And our area here is really small and we don't have many places to go to try and find new people.  But, we are still working hard!

We found a new investigator last week!  His name is Carlos.  We contacted into him and then found out that he lives with one of the recent converts in our area.  Jaja with Spanish people, there are always a ton of people that live in one house and sometimes you don't even know who lives there.  So, we taught Carlos with the member he lives with!  It was a really short lesson, but he has a lot of potential.  He wants his family to be closer.  His son does drugs and bad stuff and he wants him to stop that too.  So, we are going to help him!  Yeah!  We are going to teach him again tonight, right before English class.  Then he is going to come to English class!  We're excited.

Super cool experience last night.  Do you know what the Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) is?  It's down by BYU-Hawaii.  President Orgill was in charge of it before he became our mission president.  So, he asked them to come up here and do an event for the stakes around here!  IT WAS SO COOL.  They said there was going to be something on KSL about it, so I don't know if you saw it or not.  It was cool.  We were able to help set everything up too!  The dance thing they did was all based on the Plan Of Salvation.  It was super cool.

On our hike last week, we just went up some trail.  It's called Truman Forest Sanctuary or something.  It was fun.  I don't know why you think my hair is so dark.  I haven't done anything to it jaja. Maybe it was the gel?

Mormon Messages are sooooooo good!  You should watch them!

The interview with President Orgill was super good.  I really like him as a mission president.  He doesn't speak Spanish though :( but, he speaks Tongan!  He says the grammar rules are the same as in Spanish, so maybe I will learn some Tongan when I come home ;)  jaja.  He basically gave me the choice for when I want to come home.  He said since the day I would normally go home is in the middle of the transfer, he has the power to extend or cut off the mission by 30 days.  I have prayed a lot about it and I think coming home the 16 of October is what I am going to do.  But, things could change.  He said we could talk about it more in depth when the time comes.  That's all for now.

That's so cool that Jaxon was ordained an Elder!  He's growing up!  Soon, he's going to be in Mexico!  Lucky!  Then Florida!  That's so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha we actually had a Pioneer Day celebration on Saturday!  It was fun!  We did it as a stake.  There was food, games and lots of cool stuff like that.  Felt just like Utah :)

Sounds like the mountain trip was super cool!  I want to do that one day!

Well, I think that it is all for this week!
I hope you have a wonderful week!
I LOVE YOU.

Hike pictures

Here are some pictures from our hike

Hike for pday

So, I thought I would send you the fotos first before anything else since I have promised them so many times :)

We went on a hike today!  It was fun.  I thought I would be okay wearing a polo shirt (because it has a collar) but I still got burnt :(  it was fun.  Took lots of cool pictures.  We saw two deer.

This week has been pretty good.  Did I ever tell you we finally had some people come to English class?!  Yeah!  It's sweet.  One of the lady that comes, her kid is 12 and he doesn't speak that well of Spanish.  So, I actually don't teach English classes...  I teach Spanish classes during English classes!  Haha.  It's a lot of fun.  The kid already knows pretty much everything, the mom is just kind of crazy.

Friday was a really good day!  We had two SWEET lessons.  One with this kid named Armando.  Elder Nealy and Elder Robinson had found him when they first got to the area, but then he left to Mexico for like two months... Then we finally found him again!  Oh man, he is soooooo cool!  He wants to find the truth.  He is definitely going to be baptized.  We watched the SWEET new Mormon Message (Origin) with him.  Oh man, it is soooo powerful.  Watch it!

https://www.lds.org/youth/video/origin?cid=HPL2P09W03012&lang=eng

it is so awesome.  He told us though that he would feel more comfortable in a YSA ward... But, that's okay.  We are all on the same team!   So, we will be handing him off next week.  He's awesome.  Do you remember Mario?  The 16 year old that we taught last week?  We taught him again!  And once again, he had lots of questions.  We also watched Origin with him and he loved it!  His cousin (who is a member) has told us that he has been praying and reading the Book of Mormon!  He is so cool.  He goes back to Sacramento the 5 of agosto, so hopefully we can teach him a lot more before then.

Transfers are next week.  Elder Nealy and I are hoping we stay together... I don't want any more companions!  I have already had a lot...  We think we will stay together.  It only makes sense!

President Orgill is AWESOME.  He is SOOOO much different than President Cook, but he is super cool.  He reminds us of Rex from Toy Story.  haha he is really funny.  he served in Tonga.  I am sad that I won't be able to serve with him for long... But, he's cool.  Most of the missionaries are from Carlsbad.  The Irvine mission is made up of 6 stakes.  4 from Carlsbad and 2 from Anaheim.

If I had more time, I would love to use a backpack... But, time is quickly decreasing!  :(

I haven't heard anything about no more tracting...  Nor the clothes change.  Where did you hear about that?  It will probably be a lot more different in Spanish work

Sounds like your Pack Meeting was SWEET!  I wish I could have gone!  Pictures?

I will have to ask President Orgill about Nicole!  I wish I would have known that during interviews... That would have been cool.  I should see him soon though.  Maybe.  Hopefully not at transfers.  I don't want to go to transfers!

Well, I think that it is all for this week.  I hope you liked the pictures!  I will try to send more next week!

I love you all!  Have a fantastic week!

Meeting President Orgill

This week has been pretty slow...  Since it was the 4th of July, lots of people weren't home nor were outside...  But, we finally we able to meet President Orgill!  We had a mission wide meeting on Thursday and were able to meet President and Sister Orgill and the other missionaries of our new mission.  Our mission is so tiny.  We didn't even fill up a whole chapel.  I realized how strict our mission was and President Cook.  Not strict, but a lot more rules.  The Anaheim missionaries are so different!  They can have backpacks, and we don't have mission specifics anymore so that means we can have backpacks too! :)  President Orgill is really funny too.  It's too bad he will only be my mission president for a short time...  But, we have interviews with him tomorrow, so I am excited to get to know him better.  He's a lot different than President Cook, but that's not a bad thing.  I'm excited to be one of the first missionaries in the new Irvine mission!  It's so cool!

As a said before, not a whole lot happened this week... We did find a cool new investigator though.  His name is Mario.  His cousin is a recent convert that was baptized last October.  Mario is 16.  His cousin invited us over on Saturday to teach Mario.  Mario had lots of questions and comments!  It was super cool.  He actually lives in Sacramento, and is just down here on vacation until August 5, so we are going to try and teach him as much as we can until then.  Maybe even baptize him jaja

Really, that's about it... It was a slow week this week.  But, we have district activity today, so that's awesome!

I am still with Elder Nealy!  We are pretty sure we will end the mission together.  I hope so.  If not, we are going to train and then go home.  I have thought a lot about it and prayed too, and I think it's best for me to come home the 16 of October.  But, we will see what President Orgill says tomorrow during interviews.

The 4th of July was the same as every other day haha.  We did have the cool meeting though with the whole mission.  It was strange going to Irvine because it felt like we were going out of mission boundaries, but we weren't.  Irvine is a cool place.

Jaxon can definitely have my bike.  I doubt I will be needing it any longer.  We have a full time car and I think it will stay that way until I go home.  It is a really nice bike and functions perfectly fine still. Is there anything you want me to do with it?

Are there any new people moving in or are they all moving out?

Well, I think that's all for this week.  Sorry for the short email!  Hopefully next week it will be a lot longer!

Love, Elder Hunt

P.S.  Crazy fact.  Elder Nealy and I hit double digits today.  99 left!  WOW

First official week as an Irvine missionary!

Yesterday it became official!  We became Irvine missionaries!  Woo!  I am pretty excited.  Not many people can say they served in two different missions.  Plus, we are part of a brand new mission!  This mission is only 2 days old!  We haven't met President Orgill yet, but Thursday we have a big mission conference with him and the mission.  Should be pretty exciting!  Our mission wide meeting was really good and really sad...  Even though I hardly ever saw the other missionaries (just at transfer meetings and zone conferences SOMETIMES), it was sad to say goodbye...  But, I am pretty much dead anyways, so they wouldn't ever see me anyways jajaja.  President Cook and Sister Cook are no longer President and Sister Cook...  They went home yesterday!  It was a sad meeting, but a lot of fun.  Lots of good friendships made.  I will miss Carlsbad, but I am super excited to be here in Irvine!

So, we were right about Elder Robles.  He just moved over to Rancho with Elder Schreiber.  It's cool we are still able to see him.  He was a fun companion.  Taught us lots of Spanish pick up lines :) jajaja

This week was pretty good.  WE FINALLY TAUGHT ENGLISH CLASS!!! Last Thursday!  Ever since I arrived, nobody has shown up... But someone finally showed up!  it was super cool.

The investigators are doing well too.  Mario actually dropped us last week... He sent us a message saying he didn't want to learn anymore :( he really liked the message we taught him and really likes the Book of Mormon, but doesn't want any commitments :(  he will definitely be baptized in the future though.  He was a lot like Eric from Dana, if you remember anything about him.  Cool kids.

We gave Chris to the YSA Elders...  Chris just turned 21 like a week before I did, and so Elder Nealy and I thought it would be better that he go to that ward to have more fellowshippers.  But, it's okay because Chris will definitely be baptized!  We are all on the same team!

We found some cool new people the other day on Sunday.  We had contacted into this lady named Blanca and we went by to see her Sunday night.  We taught her and her husband!  When we shared the First Vision with them, her mind was blown away!  She felt so good after hearing it!  He was iffy... But, then we talked about the Book of Mormon and he was super excited to read it!  They are a cool family.  They have a 11, 3 and 1 years old.  Their names are Blanca and Alan.

That's too bad that Jaxon is sick :( hopefully he gets better soon!  Time for mission stuff!  That's so exciting!  I can't think of anything that I needed at the beginning of the mission that wasn't in the call packet... Everything that they say there is sufficient.  Maybe when I go home, I can send him my Spanish-English translator...  Don't tell him though; it has to be a surprise!  :)

The missionary broadcast was super cool!  They are slowly inputting things like Facebook and tablets in the missions.  Probably after I die though...  But, that's okay :)

I am still with Elder Nealy!  We are probably going to die together.  Since we are going home the 17 of October (most likely, still not sure)  we have made plans to come back and visit the mission when Elder Simmons dies, 3 weeks later.  So, don't make plans that week :)  We are going to come back a visit people!  Yay!

It has been super hot here recently too...  It feels good, but not as a missionary when you have to be outside all day and with long pants...  But, it's okay!  I like the heat

The truck is still broken?!  Oh man!  I am fine with driving the truck or the Saturn.  But, as for dates... JAJAJAJAJA

Thanks for the birthday package!  I love the pens!  I haven't worn the watch yet, because I have to resize it, but it's sweet too!  I love watches!

Well, that's it for this week.  You are all so awesome and I love you!

Have a super week!

Love, Elder Hunt

New mission

Here is a map of the new mission- hopefully it works
