Almost November! 4

This week was a good one. Cinthia came to church yesterday!  We think she liked it... Hopefully.  It was kind of a boring meeting.  We have a lesson with her tonight, and we are going to try and set a baptismal date with her!  We taught her last Wednesday too and read 2 Nefi 31 with her.  She really liked it.  she is definitely going to be baptized!!!

We had a lesson with a lady named Virginia.  She is a Seventh Day Adventist.  She is crazy.  She doesn't even believe in her own prophet, but still wants to go to that church...  So, we are going to see what we do with her...

We really have not been able to teach too many other investigators this week...  They all work so much.  They are never home when we pass by, even with an appointment...  It's really frustrating, but what can you do?  Just keep working and trying to find new people!  And that is what we are doing!

Elder Tellez is really cool.  He is pretty good at Spanish too, for being so new.  Jajaja.  He is really good at English too.  The threesome is good.  It's pretty easy to get accustomed to.  Pretty soon I won't have to worry about companions!

Good thing nobody was hurt in the accident!  The car looks pretty bad though.  What are you going to do with it?

Sorry for the super short email...  Not a whole lot of lessons with investigators went on this week...  We did have lots of lessons with active members though!  The members in this area are so cool.  This is my favorite ward out of all the ones I have been in.  I am so grateful that I can finish my mission here!  This is the best ward ever!

Want to know something cool?  Burritos aren't actually a Mexican food.  During my whole time here, I have never eaten any sort of burrito, unless in a restaurant or an Americanzed Mexican house.  Some members told us too that before coming here to the United States, they had never seen a burrito or anything like it in Mexico.  Just a cool little thing that I learned the other week!

I hope you have a wonderful week!!!  I love you!!!

Elder Tellez! 5

Elder Tellez is the son of Elder Bear and I!  We are in a threesome right now, until I go home.  Then they will be companeros.  He is from Costa Rica!  Like directly from Costa Rica.  He went to the MTC in Provo for a week and a half and then came to Irvine!  He speaks perfect English; he self taught himself everything in Costa Rica watching movies and listening to music in English.  He is super cool.  He is going to be a fantastic missionary!

This week has been good.  Johan wasn't baptized on Saturday... :(  Since we last set the date with him, we had never met with him... So, he didn't met all the requirements to be baptized...  But, we finally met with him again yesterday morning before church and set a new baptismal date with him!  Yay!  For the 16 of November.  Hopefully what happened before does not happen again and we can actually meet with him.  That was the second week in a row that we had set a baptismal date the morning before we went to church.  Miracles!!!  The other one was last week with Alma.

We found a few new investigators this week but you can't really tell much from the first lesson.  Hopefully they can progress and be baptized.  We are working really hard to get some baptisms in this ward.  We keep praying, talking to everyone and teaching.  We have a goal of two baptisms this transfer.  There are people that can be baptized within the next 5 weeks, we just have to work really hard and do everything we can to bring them closer to Christ.  It might be just because I'm going home in 5 weeks, but I have felt a big sense of urgency recently.  There is little time left before Christ comes again and we have to do everything within our power to help ALL of his children receive the blessings of this restored Gospel.

Elder Bear just hit his one year mark a about 10 days ago.  He was trained by Elder Simmons!  (who goes home in 2 weeks! CRAZY!  If I would have stayed in Carlsbad, I would be home in 2 weeks.  INSANE!)

That's so crazy that Jaxon is already going to Florida... There are some missionaries that just came in from the Mexico MTC (like my grandson, Elder LeFevre! jaja) and they said it's so awesome.  New missionaries are so cool.  They have so much power and so much desire to do the work.

I have learned a lot about family history and the importance of it out here on the mission.  I am excited to start doing more research and then going to the temple and doing the ordenanzas for them!  The temple is sooooooo cool.  I cannot wait to go all the time when I come home!  Especially in Spanish :) jaja

The Lord is hastening his work and we all have to do our part!

I think that is all I have for this week.  I hope you have a wonderful week!

Love you!

baby! last transfer! 6

craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy!!!  Elder Bear and I are having a baby together.  It will be strange training in a threesome again, but it will be cool.  I'm excited.  I cannot believe I have started my last transfer...  My brain still hasn't registered it yet.  It just feels like I am going to be a missionary forever and ever and ever.  But, in 6 weeks, it will be all over!  It's crazy.  Time goes by so quickly!

The conference with Elder Falabella was sooo awesome!  During all the breaks, all the Spanish missionaries went and talked to him and his wife in Spanish. It was soooooo cool.  His wife doesn't speak much English, so during her talk, someone was translating.  When she said funny stuff, all the Spanish missionaries laughed at her jokes and then the English missionaries laughed when the translator said all her jokes.  IT was funny.  Elder Falabella is super cool.  We even took a picture with him and his wife as Spanish missionaries!  But, I didn't have my camera... But, I can send it to you next week!

Sunday was a really good day for us.  Before we went to church, we taught Alma and Lauro.  I think I told you about them.  Lauro is the member (maybe) that was baptized in Mexico.  We are looking for his records to see if we can move them to our ward.  Anyways, we taught them and we set a baptismal date with his wife, Alma!  She is willing to do the things necessary to be baptized.  She is cool.  She wants to be sealed with her husband and her little 4 month old girl.  They are a cool family.  Hopefully they can come to church and start to really progress.

Then we taught Cynthia, the girlfriend of one of the recent converts of the ward, Memo.  We almost set a baptismal date with her too, but she wants to come to church first to experience it.  Starting next week, she will have Sundays free!  So she can come to church! YAY!  She's really cool too.

We haven't met with any of the other investigators...  Everyone here works soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much........................................................................................................................................ I hate it.  But, we keep trying!

I cannot believe this is my last transfer!  time goes by so fast.  in 6 weeks, I will be almost home!  43 days.    Thanksgiving is in 44 days!  We are working super hard this transfer, especially since I am dying.  And we are having a kid.  We are going to have dying missionary miracles and greenie miracles!  Miracles all around for everyone!  Yay!!!
It's starting to get cold here...  And when I say cold, I mean like, 60 degrees...  I don't want to go back to Utah!!!  nevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvver... nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... it's coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooold...  I have to enjoy these last six weeks of Cali weather while I can!

I hope you feel better Mom!!!

There are going to be 11 missionaries in our ward!  Elder Robles and Elder Hilton are training (I am going to be a grandpa!), Hermana Froelich and Hermana Hodgson are training and Elder Osito and I are training!  Muchos misioneros!

Everyone calls me grandpa because I am so old... :(

Well, I think that it is all for this week.  Pictures next week!  I promise!  (if I remember to bring my camera..) :)

Have a wonderful week!
Love, ELder Hunt

another baby

so.  I'm having another baby!  Probably with Elder Bear.  Usually we do not receive the calls until Wednesday, and then have a meeting on Friday, but on Friday we have a special meeting with Elder Enrique Falabella from the Seventy.  He spoke last conference.  (http://www.lds.org/church/leader/enrique-r-falabella).  We are all really excited!  So, we have a meeting tomorrow instead, because of the meeting.  Elder Hilton and Elder Robles are training too (the other Elders in the district).  So, I am most likely going to stay here and train with Elder Osito!  I'm really excited.  I really like this area!  Even though it's hard to find and teach, this is probably my favorite area. This ward is the best too!

This week was a good week for us.  Remember Roberta, the wife of Carlos León?  We taught her yesterday after Conference, and she accepted a baptismal date for the 2 of November!  She is really willing and ready to be baptized.  She is really cool.
Also, last night, we found 2 new investigators!  Monica and Horasio.  We had talked to Moncia a few days before, for like, 5 seconds and she told us to come over and she was actually there!  So, we taught them about God and temples are they are excited to learn more about eternal families!  They are cool.

General Conference was soooooooooooooo good!!!  I think my favorite talk out of them all was President Uchtdorf from Priesthood.  But, there were so many good talks!  Conference was awesome.  We watched it in the stake center, like usual.  On Sunday, the ward provided a lot of food for everyone.  And on Saturday, there is a member that gives us free pizza every week, so we went there!  Being a missionary is so cool.  People give you free stuff all the time :)  We go to Golden Spoon like once a week.

This was a really good week this week.  It was really strange having P-Day on Wednesday, but everything turned out well!

I never heard anything about the MyLDSMail.net problem... Thankfully we emailed on Wednesday and did not have to deal with it!

My plans when I come home = sit in the basement and play video games for 6 months

I will make sure to tell Hermano Crowder thanks for all the help!  The box was free, he had us go to a bike shop and get one and they just gave it to us for free.  It was cool.  Hopefully everything works with the bike!  IT all should.  I barely even used it jaja.

Well, I think that is all I have for this week. Kind of a short week, but it was definitely a good one!

Have a fantastic week! I love you!

p.s.  pictures next week.  I forgot my camera and Elder Bear forgot his cord.

templo!

We just got back from the temple!  We went to the Newport Beach temple.  The new movie was really cool. The temple is really close to where we live, only like a 20 minute drive.  And it's in our mission now!  Being an Irvine missionary is super cool.  I love being an Irvine missionary.

Not a whole lot happened this week.  Lots of cancelled appointments and people not being there...  :(  But, that's how life is and we keep on trying!  We have spent a lot of time in our new area, but we still have not found any new investigators up there...  Hopefully soon because it is a sweet area and it gives us a lot of work to do!

Our English classes are really picking up!  Yesterday we had 5 people show up!!!  That's the most ever in this area!  When I first got here, we had none for like, 2 months...  Now we have lots of students and it's sweet!  They really like coming and a few of them have even turned into investigators!

We had a really good activity on Friday night too.  We acted out, in a play type thing, all the 8 points of the first lesson, The Restoration.  The play turned out really good, but only like, 10 people showed up...  But, we are probably going to do it again.  I don't have pictures with me right now, but I can try to get them by next week.

That's about it.  This week has been really strange.  No P-Day Monday, because of the temple trip.  Then tomorrow we have a big zone meeting.  Then Friday is weekly planning and then Saturday and Sunday are GENERAL CONFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am so excited!  Last GC as a missionary.... Crazy.  Time flies!  If I was in Carlsbad right now, I would be coming home in a month!  But, I'm an Irvine missionary and I come home in 2 :)  I started my tie countdown about a week and a half ago.  I have 65 something ties and am wearing a different one every day until I go home.  It's crazy!  Time goes by really quickly!

That's about it for this week.  I love being a missionary!  There's nothing better!

I hope you have a wonderful week!  Talk to you on Monday!

fotos de templo!

Sorry you can't see the temple very well.  The pictures were quick because not many people were there to help us.  Our session started at 7 in the morning.  Then we went to eat breakfast at Denny's as a district!  IT was a lot of fun
