I'm an Irvine missionary!

I am an Irvine missionary!  Almost.  The missions still have not split, so I am technically a Carlsbad missionary, but I am staying here.  One more week!  Here is the new address for the Irvine mission office.  DO NOT SEND STUFF TO THE CARLSBAD MISSION OFFICE.  23 Lake Road, Irvine CA, 92604-4579.

We are emailing today because we are having a HUGE meeting tomorrow.  Every missionary from the mission is going to transfer meeting tomorrow.  It's going to be sweet!!!  And we didn't find out that we were emailing today until last Saturday...  Otherwise, I would have said that earlier.  But, next week, I will be able to read two weeks of stuff from you!  WOO!

Elder Robles... is leaving :( :( :( We are pretty sure he is staying in the ward though.  Elder Schreiber is in the other area (Rancho) and his companion, Elder Bear, is leaving.  So, we think that Elder Robles is going over there.  It's sad though :( our baby is leaving us!  But, Elder Nealy and I are staying together!

We had a really good week this week.  We found 4 new investigators!  WOO!  I don't really know anything about them right now because we have only had one lesson with them... But, with time I can tell you more about them.

We are teaching this one kid named Chris.  He turned 21 years a little before I did.  He is really cool.  He was taught by missionaries before, a while ago, and we started teaching him about 2 o 3 months ago.  He still remembers a lot of the stuff and really wants to do well in life.  He has a problem drinking and smoking, but he has been free for the past 4 days!  (we saw him last on Saturday, so hopefully more days).  He has a baptismal date for the 15 of Julio, so that's cool.

There's really not that much more stuff... The broadcast thing was super cool yesterday.  We all thought they were going to make a big announcement, like open up China, but that didn't happen... The broadcast was still really cool though.
Everything is going really well!  We are teaching a lot, meeting a lot of cool people.  The only thing we need now is to baptize someone...  That is the next step!
Okay, well I hope you have a wonderful week!  Next time I write I will be in a completely different mission!  This is my last letter ever as a Carlsbad missionary!

la liga de justicia

So, new companion!  Elder Nealy and I had a kid.  His name is Elder Robles.  He is from Texas, but born in Mexico!  He is really cool.  It's nice to have a native companion.  That speaks English already.  He tells us lots of pick up lines :) jaja.  Being co-trainer is really strange.  If there was a new missionary in a threesome, there would usually be two new missionaries and one trainer.  I have never seen or heard about there being two trainers before.  That's a first.  Another first is that Elder Robles is the first official Irvine missionary!  The call he received was for the mission of Irvine.  Pretty crazy, huh?!  He arrived even before the mission president!  It's pretty cool.

So, I forgot my planner and journal today, so I will have to tell you about the week the best I can from memory.  It has been a pretty long week.  Whenever you get a new companion the next week is pretty long.  Especially when he's a new missionary because you have to teach him all the stuff that you have learned over time.  But, Elder Robles is really good.  Natives have it easy because they don't have to learn the language jaja.  Sometimes it's hard to transition and stuff while in a threesome, but we have it down pretty well.

The investigators are doing well.  We have found a few new ones this week and the last.  When we were on the mission wide exchanges, Elder Gneiting came with me and we taught a kid named Mario.  On Saturday last week, we taught him again!  He is really cool.

Sorry this email is really short.  I started it this morning, but then we received a call from the Zone Leaders telling us that someone was in the hospital and needed a blessing.  It was an inactive member, whose family are not members.  He had a stroke on Sunday and his health was really bad and they were going to take him off of health support at 3.  So, we had to hurry and give him a blessing.  I can explain more next week because we don't have much time right now.  Then we had district activity.  It has been a fun and crazy day!  The letter next week will definitely be more long.  I am sending  pictures, so hopefully that will make up for it :)

I hope you have a wonderful and fantastic week!

LOVE, ELDER HUNT

It's a boy!

So, Elder Nealy and I are having a kid together.  He is due at 1.  The Assistants called us on Sunday (we were on exchanges) and told us we were going to train.  So.  I'm afraid.  One kid was enough!  They just called us again not to long ago and said his name is Elder Robles.  He's from Sanora, Mexico!  So, he might not speak English.  We don't know if he is like just coming here from Mexico, or if that's where he was born or what...  But, Elder Nealy and I are having a kid together.  Party!

This week was pretty sweet.  Lots of lessons!  Lots of exchanges!  On Sunday, Elder Oso (his last name is Bear) and I went on exchanges.  he came to my area.  We didn't teach any lessons, but we had a ton of contacts!  We had a goal of 70 for the week, and before he came we were really low, like 50 something.  We got 30 contacts and destroyed our goal!  it was sweet.  we met lots of cool people too.  Like this one lady, her name was Mayra.  She was coming home from the store and had a ton of groceries and so we helped her carry them all inside and then started talking to her.  Her husband wasn't home, so we couldn't go inside :(  but, we talked to her about the Gospel and she is really interested.  And in English classes too!  Then she even gave us the name of one of her friends to visit and we didn't even ask her too!  It was sweet.

Friday was a super awesome day.  We had a mission wide Spanish conference!  All the Spanish missionaries came and we learned a little bit about Spanish and a lot about how we can better the work.  Since we are in the United States, the majority of the trainings we receive are aimed at English wards.  Yeah, they still work for Spanish wards, but it is more difficult to implement.  So, we had a Spanish conference!  It was awesome.  We also had mission wide exchanges!!!  I stayed here in Mission Viejo and Elder Gneiting and Elder Kitchen (Elder Kitchen came out the same time as us and was Elder Gneiting's MTC companion).  It was super cool and a lot of fun.  Friday night, when we arrived back from Vista from the conferencia, we had something called a Mini MTC.  As missionaries we had prepared trainings and stuff in order to help the members become better at missionary work.  It was super sweet!  Friday was a really good day.  The exchanges were only 24 hours and so we had to switch back the next day at 3.  Vista is like a hour drive away, so we had to leave early, so we didn't have much time to work after studies.  But, we still got a lot of work done.  We had a member come with us that is preparing for a mission and so we went on splits!  We have this really big complex in our area, and so Elder Gneiting and I went to the bottom part and Elder Kitchen and Pablo (the member) went to the top.  In total we got like, 21 contacts and Elder Gneiting and I taught a lesson and found a new investigator!  His name is Mario.  He's 17.  He's cool.  Mission wide exchanges are awesome!  Too bad they won't happen again :(

It was a really good week last week.

Trek sounds like it was fun!  Maybe I can go next time!  How often are you going to go?  Do Grandma and Grandpa like their new mission?

Sounds like you have fun new callings!  no more Primary?

NINTENDO WORLD IS THE BEST!!!  But Jaxon should go see some NY stuff too!  Tell him!

The weather in Cali is perfect, like always.  I never want to move away.

Hope you have a fantastic week!  Our baby is due at 1, so we have to prepare some stuff.  Love you all!

Love, Elder Hunt

Many Exchanges

Lots of exchanges last week.  And lots of exchanges this week.
On Wednesday, because Elder Nealy is District Leader, we had exchanges with the Zone Leaders!  I stayed in the area (after only being there a week!)  and Elder Nealy left.  The Zone Leaders here are just plain English missionaries.  No Spanish.  And so, I was by myself in the Spanish.  We had like, 6 lessons planned out and it was going to be sweet!  But, they sadly all fell through one by one :( :( :(  I was excited to teach all by myself...  But, it was a good exchange.  We talked to lots of cool people and found some cool potenciales to visit.  I forgot how much fun being with an English missionary was.  They don't know any Spanish!  Spanish is the best :)

Still nobody has come to English classes, so those have been a bust :( but, this week and last week we gave out a ton of flyers!  So, hopefully more people will come.

Sunday we had exchanges again.  I left.  To Rancho.  It was great!  we changed right after church was over.  For dinner, we went to la familia Garfias!  They are so cool.  Jajaja they said they really like the blog.  While on exchanges, we had a few lessons.  The time definitely flew by though.  And on Monday we had a meeting with the zone and so we didn't really get to work :( but, it was a really good exchange.  I went with elder Schreiber!  He is two transfers younger than I am.

Monday was pretty good too.  We found some new people to teach!  It's a mom and a daughter.  I don't remember the mom's name, but the daughter is Alison.  They had lots of questions and we had a really good lesson.  But, they might be going to Mexico for the next month for vacation so... :(  The mom for sure, but Alison isn't sure yet.  Hopefully we can teach them more!

So, I am in the same ward, but not the same area.  I am mainly in Mission Viejo now.  Being with Elder Nealy is AWESOME.  Our apartment is really nice!  It has two rooms, but it's just us that live there.  Soon, there might be other missionaries living with us, but for now, just us!  We each get out own bathroom :)  I will send my Dana SD card home soon so you can have more pictures!  The area is really nice.  Someone told us the other day that Mission Viejo is the 5th most safe city or something.  That's pretty cool.

Jajaja so about Brigg and Janet...  The Hermanas in our ward were at Subway one day last week and they saw her!  Jaja

I will know if I will be an Irvine missionary on the 24 of June.  We are like, 90% sure that since we are up here, we will stay up here, but you can never predict transfers...  So, we will see.  I am pretty sure I will stay an Irvine missionary though.  I think it's sweet!  I am excited.  I think I will probably die in this ward too...  I only have 4 transfers left, so...  Born and died in Mission Viejo 5!

How's trek?

Well, I think that it is for this week!  Hope Trek is fun and you all have a wonderful week!
Love, Elder Hunt
