bautismo!!! Luis

Luis was baptized!  He is really cool.  We jam packed in all the lessons haha.  We taught him on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Had the interview Friday and was baptized Saturday!  It was really cool.  He has lots of knowledge about the Gospel.  He has been learning from the missionaries for a very long time, like 14 years.  HE never was able to get baptized though because he worked on Sundays.  He said he has wanted to be baptized for about two years now, and was finally able to do it!  I feel very special that I was able to be a part of it. It was a good baptism.  FOTOS!

This week went pretty well.  We found 3 new investigators!  Remember Carlos León?  His wife just arrived last week, and we taught them on Tuesday.  It was a good lesson and she seems to be really interested.
We also taught Johan last week!  Finally!  We taught him a little about the Plan of Salvation.  We didn´t have a lot of time because we had to get home, but we taught him about how families can be together forever and that we have to be baptized to do so.  We invited him to be baptized for the 19 of October and he agreed!  He is really cool.  He has lots of potential.  Hopefully he starts fulfilling with his commitments so that he will be able to be baptized.

The other investigators we found are Flor and Andrés.  We don´t know much about them yet, but hopefully we will be able to teach them again sometime this week.  We were going to have a lesson yesterday morning before church, but we had a special meeting with a General Authority, Élder Ken F. Richards.  They came and talked a little about missionary work. It was cool.

Jaxon actually did email me!  For once!  Jaja.  It sounds like he is doing well in Mexico!  I am jealous...  I still cannot believe that he is a missionary!  It is so crazy!

It has been really cold recently...  Especially in the mornings when we go and play tennis.  This morning was soooo cold!  But, it gets warm during the day time.  I never want to go back to Utah!  It's way too cold!

Elder Bear is good.  His name is Eli.  He is from Washington.  The middle of nowhere Washington.  He is really cool.  Elder Simmons trained him!  He is a really funny Elder.  I like him a lot.

The members are treating us very well!  We eat with members just about every night.  The food is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!!!  I love Latina food!

I am sad that BYU lost :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(
I have been receiving your lessons too!  I like them a lot.  I just got the one about missionary work yesterday.  Have not read it yet, but sometime this week!

Well, I think that it is all for this week.  I hope you have a fantastic week!!!

Spanish

Hola!

This week was pretty good.  We were not able to teach Luis Perez (the guy with cáncer) this week because he had kemo last Monday and it hit him pretty hard.  But, we have a lesson with him on Tuesday!  So, hopefully everything goes well with that.  He really wants to get baptized on Saturday, so we will be praying that everything goes well for him.  He is really cool.

We have a pretty good week this week.  We found 4 new investigators!  One is named Omar.  He is a 20 year old and we are going to give him to the YSA missionaries.  But, he has a lot of potential.  His parents are from Mexico, but he was born and raised here, so he speaks better English than Spanish.
Another couple is Patricia and Abel.  they are cool too.
Another lady is named Yeni. (Jenny in English).  They are all really cool people and have lots of potential.  We are going to be working a lot with them so that they can progress!

The work has been going by a lot smoother now that we have the part of the área.  Before we just had a few places, but gaining this new área has helped out so much.  It's really cool to go back to places where I was before.

Jaxon has been a missionary for such a long time now!  I hope everything is going well for him.  I pray for him every day!  He is probably going to have better Spanish than me just from his 6 weeks in México.  I am so jealous!  He is going to be an amazing missionary!

Carlos León was going to be baptized, but we were not able to meet with him for a few weeks.  Nor did he come to church...  But, we have a lesson with him on Tuesday, so we will see!  His wife just crossed the border last week too, so maybe we can get his wife on board!  Yeah!

There was lots of miscommunication between the missionaries and the bishop.  And the hispanic culture is really prideful and always has to be right...  So, there was a few problems and President Orgill thought it was best to move him and a few other missionaries to not cause any more conflicts.  But, things are getting better now.

Time is going by even more quickly!  Every day seems to go by quicker...  it's crazy!

Oh!  I almost forgot!  As a new misión, President Orgill is trying to start up some new ways to spread missionary work.  So, he started a misión choir.  and I was chosen to be a part of it!  We have practices on Tuesdays and we are going to go to different wards/stakes throughout the misión and perform for sacrament meetings, Ward conferences, stake conferences, etc.  It's a super cool idea and I am excited to be a part of it!

Well, I think that it all for this week.  I hope you have a wonderful and fantastic week!

P.S. Sorry if some of the words are spanish or have weird accent marks.  I just figured out that I can write in Spanish!  And since I write most of my emails in Spanish, I changed it!  It's cool.  Right now, my whole letter is red underlined hahaha.

I LOVE YOU!

Elder Osito!

Elder Oso is my new companion!  Yay!  He's awesome.  He's from Washington.  It's really nice getting a companion that you already know because then you don't have to go through the awkward phase of getting to know them...  I like companions like that :)  hopefully he is my last one.  Elder Nealy and I were supposed to stay together until the end, but some problems happened in our ward between the Bishop and the missionaries and so they had to transfer most of the missionaries from our ward...  But, everything has a purpose, so it's all good.  Elder Nealy went down to San Juan, where he was born!  He is with Elder Belbin.  Oso = Bear. Osito = little bear

This week was really bad for us...  We only taught two lessons the whole week...  Even with our new area.  But, we contacted a lot of people and have a ton of potential appointments, so that is good.  And one of those two lessons was an amazing miracle!!!

at the end of June, we had received a call from some English missionaries telling us to go and give a guy a blessing in Spanish.  The English missionaries had a lady in their ward that was from Peru (but she spoke English) and her husband had cancer (he doesn't speak English).  So, they wanted us to go over there to the hospital and give him a blessing in Spanish.  So, that's how we met them.  After that, we would go by and visit them every so often to see how they were doing.  This past week we have been trying to teach him because he wants to be baptized!  Since he has cancer, he has very little time left. (like months, maybe less)  A lot of the members in their ward and even the stake president have been wanting us to go over.  So, we finally had a chance to teach him yesterday!  Right when we walked in and sat down, the first thing he said to us was, "So, I want to be baptized in 2 weeks.  You can come over these days" and a bunch of other stuff.  We were shocked!  He has studied with a ton of missionaries and knows everything is true.  What held him back from being baptized is that he has worked on Sundays his whole life.  But, now that he has cancer, he doesn't work and he has decided to be baptized!  Yay!  So, we taught him yesterday and we are going again on Thursday or Friday.  He has kemo tomorrow, so he will be out for a few days.  But, we are super excited and he has a lot of support to be baptized!  So, we are going to have a baptism in 2 weeks!!!  I hope that story makes sense.

I still cannot believe Jaxon is leaving tomorrow!  He is going to be a missionary!  There will be 3 Elder Hunt's out there! (probably more, but we are the 3 most important :) )  Is everyone excited?  I am going to be able to speak Spanish with him!  YAY!!!  Tell him to read his email I sent him!  It will be weird just Mom, Dad, Kelsey and Maddy in the house...  It will be quiet!  Maybe.  Probably not jaja.  Maddy is loud.  ;)

How has the weather been down in Utah?  These past 2 or 3 weeks have been sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot... Like, above 100 every single day...  It's hot.  It's supposed to cool down!  It's September!

BYU and Texas :)  YAY!

Well, I think that is all I have this week.  I hope you have a wonderful week!
I love you!
Love, Elder Hunt

P.S.  Buena suerte Jaxon! (A.K.A. Elder Hunt número 3)

we are sad :(

Elder Nealy is leaving :(  we are super sad :(  but, it all has a purpose.  We were pretty sure we were going to die together... But, it's all okay!  Predicting transfers in the Irvine mission is a lot easier to do!  We are not sure, but we think Elder Bear will be my next companion.  But, we will see later today!

this week was pretty good!  we did not teach a whole lot, but we had a lot of lessons.  recently, we have been focusing on reading with the investigators.  we give them assignments to read while we are gone, so that they can prepare themselves for the next lesson, but a lot of the time they do not do them... so, this week we focused a lot on reading with them so that they can see the importance of doing it.  doing this has turned out really well!  the investigators see how easy it is to read and that reading really does not take that much time.

we found a new investigator this week too.  his name is Juan!  don't really know a lot about him because the lessons that we have had with him have been really short.  but, he has a lot of potential!

today is a great day!  when this area was opened, it did not have many Spanish areas... like, 2 complexes.  and when you spend 90% of your day in 2 places, everyone gets tired of you... and that's what has happened with us.  so, we talked to the zone leaders and assistants about giving us more area!  so, we talked about it and today we get some new area!!!  the new area is located up in Rancho, where I used to work!  I am super excited!  Because we will finally have more areas to work!

We didn't really do anything yesterday... It was P-Day and so we went to a family's house in our area and played Uno and other card games with them.  Then we went around so Elder Nealy could say bye to people.

Time is flying by quickly!  Only two more transfers left!

Well, I think that it is all for this week!  I hope you have a wonderful week!
Love, ELDER HUNT
