Time just flies by faster every single day...
So. Cinthia is doing really well still. She came to a baptismal service on Saturday and she really liked it! She was not able to come to church because she had a job interview, but we are going to teach her tonight and present her with a baptismal calendar so that she can see what she needs to do to be prepared to be baptized on the 14 of December. We are super excited!!! I would like to come back on the 14, if possible. Probably with Elder Nealy because he taught her too and would probably like to come back. But, it's not set in stone yet. we will have to wait and see.
Something cool this week. Every lesson this week that we taught to an investigator, we invited them to be baptized or they already had a date! (I hope that makes sense). It's cool because that's something that I have never done before and inviting people to be baptized is good! :)
We had this one lesson on Thursday with a guy named Eliseo. We contacted him in an apartment complex and asked him if we could share something really quick, like 20 minutes. He actually said yes! So we went and sat down and taught him about prophets and the authority and about the life of Jesus Christ and how we need to follow his example. The lesson went really well and we invited him to be baptized for the 7 of December and he said yes!!! We were happy. Then... We went back the next day for our appointment and he told us that he did not want us to come by anymore because he was "good with God" and did not think that he needed to be baptized again... So, that was sad. But, things like that happen! It was the quickest investigator with a baptismal date that has ever been dropped jaja.
And as with all the other people that have had dates... It has been way too hard to actually find them... They never answer their phones, never are home, nothing... So, without contact, we can't do anything else but drop them. It is really sad, but they just are not ready yet. We were about to drop Johan, but we finally found him again!!! Hopefully we can start teaching him on a regular basis instead of every month. We dropped about half of our investigators yesterday because we can never find them... But, this week will be a week of miracles! I am on borrowed time ;) I should be home already! jaja
Thursday was a really good day for us. We met this one man (his name is Alberto). We had a meeting of the zone and when we got there, he was waiting for us. Since most of the missionaries here speak English, he could not communicate with them and so he was waiting for Spanish. Turns out he is a member but has been less active for a long time. He was baptized here in Mission Viejo in 1995! Then he had some illness problems and went to live with his family in Washington. He spent a few years there and then moved to Wyoming for work. He stayed there for a while until April of this year and then he decided to go to Washington D.C. (during this time he had been inactive). when he got to Washington D.C. he ran into some missionaries and started coming back to church! then he felt like God was telling him to come back to Cali and so he just got here last Wednesday. Hopefully the story makes sense. Alberto is really cool. He has a strong desire to come back to church and be active again.
I was thinking I could leave stuff with Brigg and Janet up here or leave some things with a member. I haven't started to pack up yet, but I should soon...
Well, this is week numero seis! time to get to work!
I hope you have a wonderful week!
I love you!
